We have unfortunately had to temporarily stop our beauty treatments in line with Government regulations. All existing appointments will be rescheduled.
If you’re unhappy with your smile because you’ve got misshapen, chipped, cracked, discoloured, or even irregular-sized teeth, you may worry that you’d need several different procedures to improve their appearance.
Of course, more dental procedures mean more appointments, more time off work, more time in the dental chair, and more costs. But what if we told you that there’s one short procedure that can fix all these problems in just one sitting? Well, there is— it’s called cosmetic bonding.
So, what is this wonder treatment? And, how does it work?
In this brief guide, we’ll talk you through everything you need to know about cosmetic bonding.
Sometimes referred to as “composite bonding” or simply “tooth bonding”, cosmetic bonding uses a composite resin to repair defects in your smile. This simple treatment gives your teeth an even and natural appearance.
The cosmetic bonding procedure isn’t just straightforward, it’s minimally invasive. There are no drills - and usually, there’s no need for anaesthetic.
If you’ve one or more of the following issues, cosmetic bonding might be for you:
Where you have several minor defects affecting your smile, cosmetic bonding is an excellent way of addressing them. If you’ve got more severe issues, you may wish to consider veneers, implants, or crowns.
Although cosmetic bonding improves the appearance in areas of concentrated staining, you might want to consider having a whitening treatment in conjunction with this procedure. When doing this, we’ll set out to give your teeth a uniform whiteness.
Cosmetic bonding can make you change the way you think about your smile. Here are some reasons it’s such a popular treatment:
Before your cosmetic bonding treatment, we’ll assess your teeth to ensure this is your best option.
Once we’re happy to proceed, we’ll start by applying composite resin directly to your teeth. This malleable material is skillfully shaped to match the natural contours of each tooth, covering chips and cracks. Where a tooth is short or there is a small gap beside it, we’ll build the edges to make it appear larger.
After the composite material has been smoothed and we’re satisfied with the appearance, we’ll use a special light to harden the resin. This takes just a few minutes.
Finally, we’ll check the finish of your revitalised teeth. We’ll gently smooth out any rough edges where necessary, so your new smile is perfectly comfortable.
Because the treatment is so minimally-invasive, there’s no recovery needed. Many people get cosmetic bonding procedures and return to their regular daily routine immediately.
At Kreate Dental, we’ve helped restore countless smiles using cosmetic bonding. Will yours be next?
