Our dental clinic is open and you can read our COVID-safe procedures here.
We have unfortunately had to temporarily stop our beauty treatments in line with Government regulations. All existing appointments will be rescheduled.
Crowns can provide a permanent solution for chipped or damaged teeth.
A crown acts as a kind of cap for a chipped or damaged tooth. It fits over the visible portion of your tooth and should look and feel just like a natural tooth.
Crowns are normally made of either metal or ceramic and can be made of a combination of the two. For a more natural looking crown, you might want to opt for a ceramic crown.
You shouldn’t feel any discomfort while getting a crown. It’s a fairly simple treatment which normally happens over two appointments. At the first appointment we’ll remove any weakened parts of the tooth and take an impression of the tooth.
This impression will then be sent off to a lab technician who will make your permanent crown. In the meantime, we can fit you with a temporary crown. When your permanent crown is ready, you’ll return to us here at Kreate Dental and we’ll check the crown fits in both shape and shade.
At this point, we will administer a local anaesthetic to numb the area and stop you feeling any pain. We will then cement the permanent crown in place.
You should care for your crown the way you would your natural teeth: brushing for two minutes twice daily, regular flossing, and check-ups with us here at Kreate Dental.
A crown usually lasts for up to 15 years.
